Everyone now a days have their own blog pages and people are willing to share their thoughts, opinions and views through online blog system. On the starting phase of online blog, it was only limited to post their views, reviews and thoughts on anything but now the time has changed, people are making $$$ from blogging and how they do that?? Well some people might be wondering on how blogger make $$$ blogging full time?. For this question there are lots of answers to be told and one of the main component I have included in this blog post.

I have been regular reader of different blog websites to keep myself updated on different things from all around the world, weather its news, product line, fashion, breathe taking gadgets etc. and I used to wonder why people mention about this things (specially products and website links) in their blog posts and recently I can to know that they are actually making money from this just my mentioning the product and providing the link to those product websites. There are many website from which you can actually make $$$ by just mentioning about their product line and providing a link for it and they will pay you for that.

One day I thought to give it a try and registered myself with one of the website which provides me the service for putting advertisements from other parties in my blog. Once you register with these kinds of advertisement providing service websites, you get the list of providers which are willing to pay you certain amount of money as per the nature of the advertisement they want us to put in our blog. If its just a simple text link the price will be low and if its a site wide advertisement then the price will be little higher and if any companies wants you to write about them or their product in your blog then the price is very good. Once you go through the list of advertisers you can choose on what you want to advertise about and place your bid for that particular advertisement. The advertisers will check out your website and see how many visitors you have or how many clicks can actually your blog can make for their product and if they are satisfied with your blog then they will email you with the details and you are ready to roll on making some extra $$$ with your blog and you can choose the time length of the ad to be displayed in your blog. Once the time duration is completed you will be paid for that advertisement and you can apply for more than one advertisement while you are in the advertisers list and bid on them.

Lots of popular bloggers from all around the world are using the same technique to make extra $$$ with their blog, so why not you?

Things you need to have before starting blogging:

first thing you need to have is a blog page, so that you can post your blog. There are lots of free blogging website and we are one of them, anyone can register with blogger.com.np and start posting their blog posts, as easy as 123.

you need to have good content in your blog. As we all know that “content is king” for any blog website, so you need to start posting blog posts on which people have interest on and you need to target your audience before you start your blog. If you want to target the IT guys then you should supply blog posts related to IT and if music then music, so that you can have a regular visitor for your blog who are interested in reading your blog posts which they are interested in.

Keep updated. You blog should be updated every now and then, so your visitor may come back to read on new posts you have for them ready when they visit your blog.

Usage of image. You need to learn on how to connect related images/photos to your blog posts so it might convey more then words and give a good meaning to your blog post.

And last but not the least, starting registering your blog with different website who provides services on finding advertisers and where you automatically become the publisher for them and you can ready to roll and make some extra $$$.

So, these are the few tips on how to generate extra pocket money from your small blog website.

Happy Blogging! :)

BarCamp is an ad-hoc ‘unconference’ born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. An ‘unconference’ is the opposite of a conference. It is not centered on an agenda with only the host making a presentation or a speech. Discussions are not limited to just one topic, but a wide range of topics. It is participant driven to the core and everyone is invited to share by default. BarCamp offers a favorable environment for young, motivated and talented people to interact. More importantly, it is where ideas get shared, created and advanced. This is not a formal gathering of black suits but an intense camp for those who strive to achieve. BarCamp is the convergence of a wide range of ideas brought forth by people – especially young ambitious innovators and entrepreneurs – from all backgrounds.

Recently I visited of the the Apple Retail Store here in Kathmandu (I don’t want to disclose the name of that retailer), I was there to ask if they have got any External Harddrive and their answer was “No, we don’t sell hard drives”. Well that’s okay. So, as I was there I thought asking if they have got iPhone 4 and the prompt reply was “Yes, we do that iPhone 4″ (with a exciting face). I had no idea why that lady was so excited about when I asked her about the iPhone 4. But once I asked the price on how much damage it was going to make on my savings and the reply from that lady was “It would cost you 88,000.00 NRP for 16GB”. I was totally shocked to hear the price from her and then I realized why she was so excited before when she told me that they have got iPhone 4 :) (may be she thought I was going to buy it without any single thought on it).

So, I was speechless there and didn’t even bothered to ask her why the price was so high, cause I think I know the answer already. So, I just turned around and left the shop. After getting home I directly went to Apple Singapore website and checked the price for the same iPhone 4 16GB and the price listed at the moment is S$ 888.00 which will make 49,093.59 NPR if we convert it. But, I also understand that the price in Nepali market will not be same as the converted price but little more than that and I totally agree with it, so how much it should have been in here??? Even if the retailers add 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 NRP extra to it it will be fine cause of tax and all, but 88,000.00 NRP?? How do they tag the price?? I really wonder about it, or do they add the price of 5MP camera and HD video camera’s price to it also? :) (just my thought), cause no way it will cost 88.000.00 NRP. So, I think iPhone prices are way to high for the nepali market, what do you think??

Ncell introduced the world renowned Blackberry service today in Nepal. Ncell is launching Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) and Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) in tie up with Canada´s Research in Motion (RIM) that produces the popular smartphone.
But the big question is “Are we all ready for it yet?”. Ncell is charging Rs 999.00 a month for BIS and Rs 1,499 for BES. The company is also providing BlackBerry Bold 9700 at Rs 49,999.00. Subscribers that already own a BlackBerry handset can avail the BlackBerry services upon paying a registration fee of Rs 1,000.00.

Introducing anything new in Nepal is not a big deal now a days, but will they be able to keep with with the demand and everything it needs to run the service smoothly??

NT (Nepal Telecomm) introduced 3G service but it still has not met the customers expectation and are not able to deliver what they have been announcing in the newspaper/tv ads. Introducing new is really excellent but keeping it upto the expectation is something different. Hope Ncell will try to keep it customers happy with the new Blackberry service in Nepal and I wish them all the luck for better service.

Yesterday (07.06.2010) Apple, announced iPhone4 and iOS 4 eliminating Phone from its OS name as now its not just limited to iPhone but iPad and iPod too.

Many people in Nepal are using unlocked version of iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS as our carrier are not so interested in introducing legal iPhone in the country so far. So, people using iPhone have to use unlocked version of the iPhone and which keeps us away from updating its OS directly from iTunes but instead wait until we get a way to unlock it after getting our hands on Jailbreak software is released with every OS update and it’s not an easy job to unlock the phone after jailbreaking it because we always have a fear of baseband change which leads to keep the iPhone locked for the rest of the life and we can use it only as an iPod :).

So, now another part will be limiting us to use iPhone4 in Nepal and that would be the “MicroSIM”. Apple now has introduced MicroSIM slot in new iPhone4 device. So there is no point of buying it to use it in Nepal and don’t seem chances that NT (Nepal Telecomm) or Ncell (formerly MeroMobile) will be introducing MicroSIM to its customers just for the sake to let us use iPhone4 :).

But, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users can enjoy the new features of iOS 4 in their phone by jailbreaking it (once its online).

So, if you are Apple fan and want to buy iPhone4, please go though the specifications carefully before you invest your huge loads of saving in buying one.

NEW YORK — Cell phone companies are about to barrage consumers with advertising for the next advance in wireless network technology: “4G” access. The companies are promising faster speeds and the thrill of being the first on the block to use a new acronym.

But there’s less to 4G than meets the eye, and there’s little reason for people to scramble for it, at least for the next few years.

Sprint Nextel Corp. is the first carrier to beat the drum for fourth-generation wireless technology. It’s releasing its first 4G phone, the EVO, this week.

In the fall, Verizon Wireless will be firing up its 4G network in 25 to 30 cities, and probably will make a big deal of that. A smaller provider, MetroPCS Communications Inc., is scheduled to introduce its first 4G phone around the same time.

So what is 4G?

Broadly speaking, it’s a new way to use the airwaves, designed from the start for the transmission of data rather than phone calls. To do that, it borrows aspects of the latest generation of Wi-Fi, the short-range wireless technology.

For consumers, 4G means, in the ideal case, faster access to data. For instance, streaming video might work better, with less stuttering and higher resolution. Videoconferencing is difficult on 3G and might work better on 4G. Multiplayer video games may benefit too.

Other than that, it’s difficult to point to completely new uses for 4G phones — things they can do that 3G phones can’t.

Instead, the upgrade to 4G is more likely to enhance the things you can already do with 3G, said Matt Carter, president of Sprint’s 4G division.

“View it as the difference between watching regular TV and high-definition TV,” Carter said. “Once you’ve experienced high-definition TV it’s hard to go back to standard TV. It’s the same sort of thing here.”

So the improvement from 3G to 4G is not as dramatic as the step from 2G to 3G, which for the first time made real Web browsing, video and music downloads practical on phones. The introduction of 3G started in earnest about five years ago, but it isn’t complete — AT&T Inc. and T-Mobile USA still have little rural 3G coverage, for instance.

There’s an important caveat to the claim that 4G will be faster, as well. It will definitely be faster than the 3G networks of Sprint and Verizon Wireless — about four times faster, initially. But the other two national carriers, AT&T and T-Mobile, are upgrading their 3G networks to offer data-transfer speeds that will actually be higher than the speeds 4G networks will reach this year or next.

That means that rather than focusing on real speeds, Sprint and Verizon will try to frame their marketing around the “4G” term, said Dan Hays, who focuses on telecommunications at management consulting firm PRTM.

“It’s a terrible story from a consumer standpoint, because it’s tremendously confusing,” he said.

AT&T and T-Mobile are able to upgrade their 3G networks because they use a different 3G technology than Verizon and Sprint, which have maxed out their 3G speeds. Taking the step to 4G is natural for Verizon and Sprint, especially because they have new chunks of the radio spectrum that they want to take advantage of.

The fact that Verizon Wireless and Sprint are adding fresh spectrum may be more important than the fact that they are using it for 4G service. No matter if used for 4G or 3G, new spectrum means the companies can accommodate more data-hungry devices such as smart phones.

AT&T’s network is already staggering under data congestion caused by the iPhone in New York and San Francisco. The carrier has made relieving the congestion a top priority this year, and its 3G upgrades are part of that process. (As an aside, there is a lot of talk of a coming “iPhone 4G.” Apple Inc. will most likely release the fourth generation of the iPhone for AT&T’s network this summer, but it’s virtually certain that it will not be able to use a 4G wireless network. It likely won’t be called the “iPhone 4G” either.)

There’s another, more subtle benefit to 4G. While it’s not always faster than the best 3G when it comes to helping you download a big file in less time, it is definitely faster in the sense that it takes less time to initiate the flow of data to you. What that means is that 4G is faster for quick back-and-forth communications. You wouldn’t notice this when surfing the Web or doing e-mail: We’re talking delays of 0.03 second rather than 0.15 second. But it could mean that 4G will work better for multiplayer gaming, where split-second timing is important. Even phone calls could benefit from shorter audio delays.

Sprint and Verizon are taking different routes in 4G. Sprint owns a majority of Clearwire Corp., which is building a network using WiMax technology. Once seen as very promising, WiMax looks set to be a niche technology, and WiMax devices like the Sprint EVO phone won’t be able to use networks built using the dominant 4G standard, called LTE, for Long Term Evolution. Verizon and MetroPCS plan to use LTE, as does AT&T, starting next year. T-Mobile says it will probably use LTE eventually. Even Sprint hasn’t ruled out using LTE eventually, because the technology has huge momentum.

In five years or so, many phones are likely to have 4G capabilities, but they’ll complement it with 3G. Rather than a sudden revolution, consumers are likely to experience a gradual transition to the new technology, with increasing speeds. But for now, 4G is no magic bullet.

“It’s an important thing for the industry,” said Bill Davidson, senior vice president of marketing and investor relations at wireless technology developer Qualcomm Inc. “It’s absolutely needed. … But I just think some of this has gotten a bit ahead of itself in terms of expectations for consumers.”

I know must of the people who are using Skype for Instant Messaging specially for text based Chat (as there is Video and Audio chat feature also) might have been facing one problem and that might be an unwanted messages to pop out everything someone in the group chat passes msg to the group (I just don’t want to read all the msgs appearing in the chat group except some important ones). So, today I found out the way to eliminate that problem with just few simple steps and this might not be new to everyone but for some users this post might help them to use this trick as it is being very helpful to me :).

Please follow the following steps (for Mac OSX users only)

1. While you are in active mode in your group session chat window (shown below)

2. Click on the “More” button and then Click “Chat Notification Settings…” (shown below)

3. in the next dialogue pop up you will see three radio button, you can choose the radio button with the instruction “Notify me only if these words are mentioned:” (shown below)

now you are ready to type the words you want to get notified upon when these words appear in any msg from your group member (e.g. hello, work, team, all etc.) and go and click “OK” button and that’s it.

Hope you enjoyed using this trick and might have been useful for you.
